Your carrier(s) will send a request for e-signature of your policy application and other documents shortly. Please make sure to have this application, along with any other documents from the carrier e-signed within the next 10 days! Your finalized policy documents will be mailed to you in the next few weeks once you've e-signed everything.
Keep an eye out for an email from your carrier(s) to set up your online account access. If you don't see an email from them in 24 hours from the time your new policy goes into effect, be sure to check your spam folder.
If you are replacing an existing policy, you'll need to cancel the insurance policy, or policies (if applicable) that are currently active by contacting your carrier directly. We suggest waiting until the new policy effective date to submit your cancellation so your new policy is in effect. Typically, you will have to call your carrier to cancel your policy, but if you can cancel through email, you can complete this form and provide all the required information they need for the cancellation. Also, be sure to make the cancellation effective on the date your new policy begins so you don't have a lapse in coverage!
You will receive from your advisor in another email, your starting policy documents. Please make sure to forward to your lender if you have one.
Prepare for a Possible Exterior Home Inspection
If you purchased a homeowners policy, please be aware you may be subject to an exterior home inspection within the next 30 days. Don't worry, you don't need to be home for this inspection, it is only performed to ensure your home is in good order and does not have any uninsurable conditions. If you have any dogs, please be sure to have notices posted around your property.
